The Southern Wings chapter began in large part due to the efforts of an energetic, forward-thinking group of women employed at the Savannah, Georgia headquarters of Gulfstream Aerospace. They were soon joined by other women in the area who worked in various other aviation businesses, as well as those who are interested in becoming involved with some aspect of flight. We have intelligent, energetic and talented members: an Embry Riddle administrator, several owners of aviation businesses, Gulfstream administrative team members, highly talented aircraft assembly specialists, flight instructors, and pilots. We are a truly blessed group! Our provisional chapter hopes to become a full chapter in 2008, and we are planning exciting programs to grow our numbers and spread our love of aviation. Our plans include: · Education events for local schools · Participation in Women in Aviation Intl. events/conventions · Aviation related trips and study · And much more! |
